Why I Created Safe Space HR
Throughout my career, I had the privilege of helping organizations solve complex business challenges, strengthen culture, and develop leaders. But one experience changed the way I viewed my work forever.
A senior Human Resources leader shared with me that the stress, anxiety, and workplace experiences she had endured over many years had become so overwhelming that she sought professional counseling simply to cope.
She wasn't struggling because she lacked talent.
She wasn't struggling because she lacked commitment.
She was struggling because the workplace had become emotionally and psychologically unsafe.
That conversation stayed with me long after it ended. It forced me to ask a question I couldn't ignore. If someone whose life was dedicated to supporting others couldn't find a safe place to process what she was experiencing inside the workplace, where was everyone else supposed to go?
That day, I made a commitment to myself. If I was going to continue doing the work I loved, I could no longer accept that this was the only way.
As someone who believes deeply in the potential of people, I knew something had to
change.
I believe our responsibility as leaders is to continually improve, continually evolve,
and continually create better conditions for the people we serve.
Safe Space HR was created because I knew there had to be a better way.
For today and for generations to come.
For more than two decades, I've had the privilege of serving organizations across the nonprofit and corporate sectors, leading through growth, transformation, crisis, and change.
My journey has included serving as a Chief People Officer, Interim Co-CEO, Chief of Staff, executive HR leader, and trusted advisor to executives, boards, managers, and employees.

Organizations become stronger when the whole is strengthened, not just the individual parts.
That belief has guided my leadership, shaped my decisions, and ultimately inspired the
creation of Safe Space HR.

Leadership is one of the greatest opportunities we have to influence another person's life
Every person deserves to feel safe, seen, heard, valued, supported and empowered.
Trust is built through consistent actions - not titles
Healthy workplaces don't happen by accident. They are created intentionally by leaders who willing to listen, learn and continually improve.

A Personal Reflection
People sometimes ask why I chose to study psychology.
The answer is deeply personal.
It wasn't because I was fascinated by human behavior.
It was because I was trying to understand people.
Long before I became an executive...
Long before I became a coach...
Long before I became a Chief People Officer...
I became a student of people.
Understanding people wasn't born out of curiosity. It was born from a desire to make sense of experiences that shaped my life and ultimately shaped my leadership.
Over time, I realized that the experiences that teach us the most often become the experiences that prepare us to serve others.
Looking back, I can see God's fingerprints throughout that journey.
Looking forward, I trust God's hand to guide me through the next.
Looking Ahead
Safe Space HR was created to help people and organizations thrive today while contributing to healthier workplaces for generations to come.
My hope is that every conversation, every coaching session, every leadership engagement, and every organizational partnership leaves people stronger than they were before.
Because when people grow, organizations grow.
And when organizations become healthier,
Communities become stronger.
